About Sundaresan Chellappa
I am an aeronautical engineer with a passion for Martial Arts. My academics combined with my education in the martial arts.
Having started training in Martial Arts from a very young age, I have not known what life would be like without it. Only when comparing myself with my peers I have realised the profound effect it has on me. Martial Arts is more than just learning to punch and kick but rather a way of life. In the words of Gichin Funakoshi ‘The ultimate aim of Karate lies not in victory or defeat but in the perfection of character of its participants’. Like any art, it leads to self mastery of oneself. It disciplines the body which in turn disciplines the mind. You apply the principles of Martial Arts not only in the Dojo but also in life and therefore it becomes a way of life.
I find myself extremely lucky to have found Martial Arts, it has given me so much and I have benefitted greatly from it. I have a passion for it and I would love to impart my knowledge on to others so that they too can reap the benefits of learning the Martial Arts. Through teaching students the way of Martial Arts, I too am continuously learning and delving deeper into the ancient art form.
